Puppys grow too fast

A bundle of fluffy joy??? He is soooo cute. But he is a puppy, who bites on everything, poops/pees everywhere and often, and he is soooo cute, soft and fluffy and he doesn't listen yet(will he ever). This first photo of DeSoto is at 7weeks, so small, soft, fluffy, cuddley and cute.

DeSoto had his first photo shoot with Angel Moon Photography, just the other day. He is like a baby, growing so fast. It seems like everyday he is just alittle bit bigger and weights just alittle bit more. He is now 9weeks old and is the size of most small fully grown dogs, but he has a long way to go into become a full grown Alaskan Malamute.

A Beautiful September Wedding at Nuchies in Forestville CT

Yes, I know it's January, but this is a cute story. Leo and I were getting ready for our work day when the phone rang at about 730am. It was September 11th and in New York City the memorial was opening for the first time. Many important figures were going to be there. We didn't know that the event was going to effect us that day.

Leo answered the phone and a gentleman started asking if we were available to photograph a wedding, what is the cost?? Leo answered his questions and they hung up. We didn't think anything of it. We continued to get ready. The gentleman called back, we need you at 330pm for our wedding. Ok, into action we went. We were able to rearrange our schedule and arrived half hour before the wedding.

We found out later, the photographer they were going to have was a friend. He lived in Pennsylvania and was coming in by train. The problem was, due to the Sept 11th memorial dedication, New York closed down the train station and you could not travel into or out of New York. They did not find this out until late the night before.

It was the grooms job to find someone and he did. It was a wonderful day for the happy couple. We were honored to photograph their special day. Check out the video to see the highlights we captured that day.

Damien's 2nd Birthday

What a great birthday present. A firetruck to play with. Better than a bouncy house. All the kids and adults loved discovering the different parts of the truck. You also got to try on the Fireman's gear. Can't image wearing the gear, it is so heavy.

Everyone got a chance to take a ride it the fire truck also. Several adults, including myself, took that ride. Way cool.

Then, maybe the best part, the kids got to spray the hose at the others. I think by the looks on the children's' faces, you can tell they had a blast.

Grandkids and growing older

WOW! Time flys. I can't believe our 1st grandchild turn 13 during our vacation with him. It seems like yesterday that he was born. And now he has 3 little brothers that all look up to him.

As we get older our time seems to go by so quickly. We just don't have enough time to do the things we want to do. Remember being 13. We couldn't wait to be 16 to get our licence. That was an exciting time.

Our next step would be to turn 18. That number made us adults and we could drink. The big debate of upping the age to 21 was still going on. Of course now, 21 is the big number.

But us older (only the number) folks remember things our grandchildren will never see or remember. Oh the good old days. (now that even sounds old).

I wouldn't change a thing. (Maybe couple of things). But, to be young and have time to enjoy your grand kids is a gift for both. They can come, visit, drive you crazy, and then they go home. Then a couple weeks later you miss them all over again.

Our hosts for the weekend, Mr. Dave and his beautiful daughter, Miss Jackie.

What a wonderful 4th of July weekend. Music, laughter, friends (new and old), the band completion, the parade, a bon fire (never saw one so big), fireworks, great food, hot tub, and beautiful weather. Couldn't ask for a better time.

Maggie checking out crabs on the beach. And a new furry friend, Skipper.

Marching Band from Wisconsin. They were excellent. And so were the other 5 bands that played the night before.

OH..did I mention sailors..yeah!

Leo and I had a great time as usual. Thank you goes out to all our friends that we spend the weekend with.

Lewis S Mills really enjoyed their time with us doing our Photo Gallery Deluxe.

OMG We got a car!

OMG We got a car. Yes, after six months of trying to find the perfect car, we finally found it. Guess what...It is not blue. It is black. My black beauty. It is a 2008 Mercury Mainer fully loaded. I can't believe some of the options (or geez whiz) stuff that it has. Heated leather seats, 6 cd changer w/MP3 player and Sirrus radio installed if we wish to get that. Auto on/off headlights/keyless entry/moon roof/auto locks/and the other mechanical stuff that Leo was looking for.

I do want to say Wallingford Auto Park was the best. No pressure, the car was clean, they let us take the car for a test drive without anyone but us. There was no dealer telling us how great the car was. We must have spent over an hour checking out everything from the radio to the heated seats.That was hard..it was 83 degrees so I didn't know if it was me or the seat that was hot.

After checking it out the sales guy was nice. Didn't push us (which I like). They said yes to almost everything we told them to fix..all minor but still great customer service.

A quick note. One thing I believe car salesmen forget is Customer Service. Leo and I went to at least 15 different dealerships. Only one, other than Wallingford Auto Park, actually took the time out to help us. I guess they all are rich and don't need the business.

We had out mechanic, Black Bear Auto in Bristol, check the car out. No problems with this car. Excellent shape. But needs a transmission flush. Ok, told the sales person and we have an appointment Monday morning to have that done, on them.

The best part is the lights on the dash at night light up very well and in a very pretty BLUE.

Breast Cancer Awareness

I titled this Breast Cancer Awareness. This is why. We had a very special lady come to us to do an UnderCover Angels session. When asked why this important to her, she told us of her story.

Tammy had breast cancer and is a survivor. She endured the unthinkable. A double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. If anyone has gone thru this process, you know. It takes so much out of you. I personally have not been here. I feel the women that have, are more courageous and have more strength then I.

Tammy, as you can see, is not only strong and courageous, she is beautiful. When she walked out of our studio, she got what she wanted the most. She wanted to feel like a women again. She was empowered. She felt sexy.

It was also great that she was surrounded by friends that participated in the session too.(One was her sister) They all encouraged each other. They teased and complimented each. They all walked out with that special smile on their face.

For Leo and I, this means so much. I can't describe it. So many emotions. I don't even know the proper wording to use.

Mother's Day Weekend

Last weekend, Leo and I were very busy with 1st communion, Kiddie Karnival and a 50th Wedding anniversary.

By the time Mother's Day came, I was tired. But we were able to squeeze somethings in. We went to my mother's in the morning. I didn't get her flowers this year. Guess what I got her, her first....Build A Bear dressed in a sailor outfit. Why a sailor outfit, because my dad was a sailor. She loved it. She goes to put it back in it's Build A Bear house. I told her NO. Take it out. Reason....

Leo and I gave my mother a beautiful pocketbook for Christmas last year. The pocketbook has an image of my daughter and her family on it. She still has the plastic wrap around it. She displays the pocketbook in her living room instead of using it. Leo told her..If it gets dirty or worn out, we will get you another. Don't think it worked. She still has it displayed in the living room. And now the bear is with it. She treasures both.

Duck Race in Forestville CT

Can a mouse stop a full-size SUV?

I know that seems like a stupid question. Well The night before Easter Leo, myself and Pati went to see the Doobie Brothers. Who doesn't like the Dobbie Brothers. Great band, older than us, and they still rock.

On the way home the car started to act funny. No power going up hill and when we stopped at a light, it wanted to stop.

Well, we were suppose to get up early on Easter day. We were going to travel to Rhode Island and meet up with very good friends for dinner. We were going to stay the night and drive back on Monday.

So on Sunday we slept in due to the fact we weren't traveling. Leo went out to check out the car and see what could have cause the car to not to work properly. He really didn't know where to start. Up goes the hood, he checks the wires, then he pulls up the air filer. Guess what he finds??

The answer to the question is yes. Leo found a mouse nest in the filter box. Some of the nest got caught in the air filter. And that is why the car didn't work.

Our grandchildren are the best. Their wonderful smiles, laughs and humor always makes for a wonderful day with them. They are always super excited to see us. They know we will have presents for each of them.

Justin's birthday is this Saturday April 23rd. He will be 3 this year. He was born in Florida. We got to see him for the first time 2 weeks after he was born. He was so cute and hasn't changed much. Still cute. He maybe the youngest but he keeps up with the big ones.

Buying a car

Last December, 3 days before Christmas, I had an car accident. Since then, I have been looking for a SUV. Yes, I am picky. I want a blue SUV.

Leo and I have been online almost everyday. We went to different dealerships and left our information - name, phone, car type, make, model and color. We have not heard a word from any of the dealerships. I guess they don't need the money.

We did test drive one SUV, had a mechanic check it out. There was a clean CarFax. When the mechanics check out the SUV, they could tell that it was in an accident. So much for CarFax.

Please beware. CarFax is not accurate by along shot. Always have a good mechanic check it out before you buy. Needless to say, we did not buy the blue SUV.

Leo and I have been check autotrades.com/cars.com and several other sites. The other day, I found a blue SUV. We called the company. Now, they have 12 different SUVs online for sale. They are on several different websites.

We were told they only have 3 in stock. And not the two we were calling about. We have been checking for almost 4 months and these vehicles were not online until that day. How can a company advertise something they don't have??

Needless to say, I know I have to get something very soon and it probably won't be blue. I didn't think that buying a car would be so much work.

What a beautiful day for the wedding of Samantha and Bill.

The sky was a baby blue with white puffy clouds. But it was cold. We arrived to Samantha's house and was greeted by a cute little pug mix and her dad.

The girls were upstairs getting ready. Hair, makeup, getting dressed. The chaos going on was a sight to see. The flower girls were dressed and ready to go, but the ladies still had aways to go. Once they were ready....

Bears Bears Bears

Say "Hello" to Snowflake (which we got in New York on our Honeymoon), Good Luck Bear, and James (named after my stepson).

Some people may know how much I love Build a Bear. They have bears of course, but they also have other animals. Well, this past Christmas my loving husband got me Rudolph. (With hints of course).

If you know anything about Build a Bear, this Rudolph has a nose that lights up and does talk(alittle).

Last year I got Hal the moose -- his antlers light up. (I do have Holly his girlfriend too).

I received gift cards to Build a Bear from my stepchildren also.

Meet Bonnie the kitty and Leo the puppy dog.

Then Valentine's Day. OMG...Another bear(a cute dog) from hubby!! I named him Jayden. The other puppy is Justin. (Both named after our grandsons)

It's so good to be spoiled by the man you love so much especially, since he thinks that you really don't need another one. Well, just like jewelry, shoes and scrapbook stuff you never have enough. Men just don't understand that.

I guess I forgot to say I have a total of 14 different Build a Bears and 1 Vermont Teddy Bear.(that is a good story, next time).

Why post this you say...Build a Bear does some wonderful charity work and this to me is important. I like to support a business that helps others.

Yes, Angel Moon Photography is involved in our community. Both my husband and myself mentor a child in our local school system. I recommend to everyone to mentor if you have the time. Make a difference.

Opening Day for Baseball

OPENING DAY BASEBALL!!!

Well, today is busy here in the studio, so we will just get the scores later. Honestly, I know the Yankees are playing but I don't know who. And Boston doesn't play until tomorrow.

Leo's team is the Boson Red Sox. Go Sox!! (Leo made me do it)

Me, I am a Yankee girl.

When I first met Leo I couldn't believe he was a Red Sox fan. I thought everyone in Connecticut was Yankee fans. I lived in Fairfield County close to New York. I went to the stadium a couple times a year. My daughter was 6 months old when she went to her first Yankee game.

I love Leo with all my heart but I told him everyone has a flaw and that is his. (Haha)

Of course the Red Sox bear's name is Leo. The Yankee bear's name is Boomer after another Yankee fan, my son.

And yes, Yankee fans and Boston Fans can get along. They actually can fall in love.

UnderCover Angels

Recently, we had a group of women who participated in our UnderCover Angel program. WOW!! These women were confident, strong and a whole lot of fun. They told us we were amazing but let's be real.

We DO amazing work but we wouldn't be able to without them. They brought their smiles, energy and excitement. They were also nervous, but after 5 minutes, they had a wonderful time. And we captured great images of each of them.

Remember going to a Tupperware party? How about a jewelry or naughty nightie party?
We all didn't want to go sometimes but it was a family member or really good friend who was having the party. So we went....and we had fun because of the people at the party. Of course we bought something because we wanted to help them. And in the end, we loved what we brought.

Our UnderCover Angel Program is similar. We have our hostess and she brings in a couple of her friends. We have a party. This party is soooo much fun. Wine, champagne, cheese, crackers, fruit, chocolate (can't have a party without chocolate), friends and FUN.

Is Spring Here yet??

Happy St Patty's day and the temp 64 degrees outside. Beautiful. Just went and got an ice coffee, then to the Page park to enjoy the beautiful weather. Leo and I sat in front the the big pond and watched the geese and ducks. There was a father and his daughter feeding the birds.

There was still some ice on the pond and the bird tried to swim thru it. Interesting to watch as they waddled toward the water they could swim in.

Well can't play all day back to work.

Grandchildren

What can I say. I love my boys. Jacob(on the right), 12 and is acting like it.(where did my little guy go). Jared(on the left)9, he makes me laugh and is a handful.

And the two little ones, Jayden 4, he could be Boomer's(my son) mini me. And Justin turning 3 April 23rd. What can I say about him..soooo cute. My daughter says he is so smart like Jacob but gets into trouble like Jared.

The boys love to visit. They know grandma and papa Leo will do something fun. At this time we will take to two older ones overnight for a couple of nights. You forget what hard work it is when you have children around.

When the little ones get bigger they will be able to stayover too. So glad they moved back North.

One of the things the older kids missed was snow. I think they got a good dose of it this winter. The only thing is they live in the Bronx and they really don't close school for snow that much. They only closed once during this snow season.

Jacob and Jared helping Papa Leo clear the snow from out first storm the day after Christmas. They were excited to help.

After shoveling and snow blowing we took them sled riding, which they haven't done in 3 years. Get to visit them this weekend.

CTPPA Convention Weekend

This past weekend Leo and I attended the CTPPA Convention(Connecticut Professional Photographer's Association). There were great speakers and lots of fun. We attended the pj party Saturday night in our matching pj bottoms. That's just us.
I remember someone telling us that staying for the whole convention (staying overnight) and participating in the events would give us more. More in the sense belonging and getting to know the other members. They really are fun and caring. You learn so much from all they have to offer. You will become a better photographer.

We had the honor of photographing the “Evening of Thriver Spirit and Song” that was held in Hartford on Wednesday Oct 20, 2010. This well attended event presented awards and highlighted the services and support available to those in abusive relationships. Moving from Survivor to Thriver is the mantra of this wonderful group of people. Presenters’ included Sara French from Fox news and Mary Jones of WDRC radio. Music was provided by Vanessa Stevens, Donna Gentile and Kate Callahan.

The location for this years grad party was the YMCA in Granby. The grads were able to swim, rock climb, dance, bingo, have tattoos done, raffles, and of course have fun with us. And they did have fun dressing up.

Angel Moon Photography wants to congratulate all high school seniors. I believe everyone remembers what it was like on that day. The excitement, the wow we did it. To some of parents, I know, are relieved. I know I was when my son graduated.

The committee that put together the grad party for Bristol Eastern High School did a wonderful job. The grads had a great time. They had tatooes, prizes, games, the gym and cafe were filled with activities.

WOW! What a week..VAZ, on Thursday, was a great place for women to have a ladies night out. So many beautiful women with wonderful products and opportunities. It is always great to see some of the vendors we know and love. A great turnout for an exciting event.

Saturday..the Bristol library with the Easter bunny. Our pal EB(aka..Easter Bunny) welcomed all the children. Some couldn't wait to see him, and then others were a little afraid. Everyone had a wonderful time decorating eggs,attending the magic show and smiling for the camera.

Just last night..we were at the Aqua Terra in Plainville for Ladies Night Out. A fun group of ladies that came out for 3 of the best activities that go together -- a delicious meal, shopping and friendship.

Ladies Nights Out

Dinner includes coffee, dessert and the most important part "ME TIME". No chores, kids or other half wanting you to take care of them. A couple of hours of just enjoying yourself with a great meal, friends and shopping.

Gram's 96th Birthday

Just a personal note, my beloved Grandmother turned 96 this past March. We had a party and many of the family were there. It is amazing how one person can remember all the names of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren especially at her age.

Everyone had a great time seeing Gram and visiting with family we hadn't seen in awhile.

It is always good to see family you haven't seen in along time. It seems like we get so wrapped up in our own lives, we don't keep in contact as we should. It is also hard when there are so many. There is a saying for some families "We only get together for funerals and weddings".

During the past year, we have been keeping tabs on each other. Facebook has become very important in keeping communication open between the different families. I love facebook for this reason.

When asked what my grandmother wanted for her birthday she said "A party, with all the family that could come"

At 96 she still wants to party. She still has a smile on her face from her party.

The Easter Bunny is coming to the Bristol Library

Yes, it is that time of year. The Bristol Library is having their Easter Gala on March 20th. And, Angel Moon Photography will be there.

There are many activities for the child to participate in. And the favorite one is getting their picture taken with the Easter bunny.

After having their pictures taken, you can dress up your photo frame with stamps and stickers of bunnies, ducks, and eggs.

There will be a $5.00 charge per picture.

CPPA Connecticut Professional Photographers Association

Hey everyone. It has been a busy beginning to the New Year. Recently Leo and I attended our annual Photography Convention with the Connecticut Professional Photographers Association (CPPA). We learned some fresh new ideas and concepts that we are going to put into place.

CPPA is a very important organization for any Professional Photographer to be involved with. The organization gives you the opportunity to learn from other great photographers.

In any profession, education is key to becoming the very best. Our profession is always changing and can be very challenging. A photographer needs to learn about the new and exciting techniques. If you don't belong you are truly missing an opportunity to learn from some of the best in the industry.

With CPPA there are print competitions where your work is judged by leading professional photographers. They will take the time critique your print. This is an excellent way to learn and produce better images. You need to be a cut above everyone else in order to successful.

Hope you enjoy some of our award winning images.

One last very important note Leo is now on the board of directors for the Connecticut Professional Photographers Association.

Tonight we will be at Nuchies for Ladies Night. Time to Shop til you drop and finish Christmas shopping. Tomorrow night is a pasta dinner benefit at Nuchies. And Thursday is Men's night out. Very busy at Nuchies this week. We will be there all 3 nights.

On another note, we will be at The Tortoise and the Hare in Bristol on Saturday Dec 19th for Photos with Santa. We have a real live Santa. Professional photos (4x6) are $10.00 plus a donation of either a non-perishable food item or an unwrapped toy.

I can't believe it's been almost a month since I have been here. Time flys when you are busy. We just finished a 2 day pet shoot at Four Paws Only in Canton CT. Mary and Carol are the wonderful owners. We photographed dogs from Pugs to Newfoundlands.

Carol and Mary offer Doggie Day Care, Grooming, Pet sitting and Training classes. We also met one of the trainers, Glenda. It is amazing that they all have 3 dogs each. They are a great group of hard working women.

My poor Build a Bear

Just recently I received a gift from a friend. It was a gift certificate to Build a Bear. I love Build a Bear.

I wanted to get the Gray Wolf.(Leo loves wolves). The wolf is beautiful, but you can't get every animal they come out with. When I received this wonderful and unexpected gift, I was so excited. To the mall. I get the wolf.

I also for a very long time wanted to get the Yankee's uniform. I also thought about getting the other team -Boston--Leo's team. I wanted to be able to dress my bears during the baseball season. Well, I know the season is over for one of the teams but I get the outfits to have. I did dress my wolf in the Yankees outfit and I named him Leo. Do you see where this is going???

Well, Leo asked, kindly, if I could just put the Boston uniform on the wolf because his name is Leo and he would not be caught dead in a Yankee's uniform.

The wolf is now in the Boston uniform. The Yankee uniform is now my GOOD LUCK bear. He is green and has lucky shamrocks on it. It is a Build a Bear I got from New York. GO YANKEES!!!
